Earl E. Keefer jr.

Earl Elwood Keefer Jr., age 75; of Millersburg, went home to be with Jesus peacefully on January 6th, 2024. He was born in Harrisburg PA on October 14, 1948, to Earl Elwood Keefer Sr. and the late Jean Rissinger Keefer. Earl grew up on a dairy farm in Millersburg where he learned the value of hard work. He continued to practice those values as he went on to pursue his passion for painting homes as the owner of E & R Painting and Wallcovering. Earl painted homes for over 40+ years and continued to follow this passion just weeks prior to receiving his cancer diagnosis when his body would no longer allow him to work. Earl enjoyed spending time with his family and the many friends who he considered to be family. He enjoyed building memories with his grandchildren whether he was fishing with his grandson Wyatt, watching movies with his grandson Colton, or being a faithful co-pilot to his grandson Kyle as they trucked thousands of miles while he soaked up the beautiful views and the invaluable conversations. His face would always light up when he would see his beautiful granddaughters and he always took the time to make them feel special and tell them he loved them. Earl is survived by his wife, Rhona Keefer and his four daughters: Sherry (Mark) Koppenhaver, Lisa (David) Stroup, April Shughart and Elaine (John) Weaver. 9 Grandchildren: John (Cortney) Koppenhaver, Brandon (Allison) Yeager, Angela Koppenhaver, Shannon Koppenhaver, Kevin (Brooke) Yeager, Kyle Stroup, Alyssa (Clayton) Chubb, Colton Shughart, and Wyatt Shughart. 8 Great-grandchildren: Raquel, Austin, Khloe, Hamilton, Layla, Brantley, Rhett, and Owen. His Father Earl E. Keefer Sr. and his sister Sandy (Donald) Shetterly. On January 6th, 2024, Earl was welcomed into his eternal home by the loved ones who preceded him in death. In addition to his beloved mother Jean Ann Rissinger Keefer, he was welcomed by his stepmother M. Annabel Keefer, his grandparents the Rev. and Mrs. Homer Rissinger and John and Lizzie Keefer, his Uncle Robert (Bob) and Aunt Shirley Rissinger and his beautiful niece Debra Shetterly Short. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at the Free Grace Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Free Grace Brethren in Christ Church, 2134 State Route 209, Millersburg, PA 17061.
