Jeffrey L. Latsha

Jeffrey L. Latsha, 73, of Pillow, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 31, 2025, at home, following a courageous three-year battle with metastatic pancreatic cancer. Born on July 22, 1951, in Sunbury, PA, Jeff was the son of the late LaVerne J. Latsha and June M. (Peifer) Latsha. A 1969 graduate of the Line Mountain Area School District, Jeff went on to retire from JBS (Mopac) in Elizabethville, PA. He was known for his love of family and serving others. Jeff was a member of Salem-Zion Church, Pillow where he served on the Church Board for 37 years and the Board of Directors for the Grandview Cemetery. He was an avid Penn State football and wrestling fan who especially enjoyed antique shopping, time spent hunting and fishing with his relatives and friends. Jeff is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Ruth Ann (Koppenhaver) Latsha, whom he married on August 31, 1969, at Salem-Zion Church in Pillow, PA. He leaves behind his daughters Lucinda Raup (Daniel) of Dalmatia, PA, and Andrea Grabert (David) of Fairport, NY; three beloved grandchildren, Betty Dealy (Nathan) of Harrisburg, PA, Abigail Grabert, and Christopher Grabert of Fairport, NY; his brother Michael Latsha (Sueann) of Pillow, PA; and sisters Julie Harmon (Douglas) of Lykens, PA, and Cynthia Lilly (Dennis) of Naples, FL including many nieces and nephews. A dedicated member of the Dalmatia Kiwanis Club, Jeff served as a past Distinguished President and current board member. He also held the position of Lieutenant Governor of Division 12 South for the Pennsylvania District of Kiwanis International and served on the PA District Board. In recognition of his lifelong commitment to service, Jeff was honored with both the George F. Hixson Fellowship Award and the Walter Zeller Fellowship Award for his outstanding contributions to the Kiwanis mission of serving children. Jeff was also a member of the Pillow Fire Company. Jeff was predeceased by his parents, LaVerne and June Latsha, his paternal grandparents Fred and Alda Latsha, and his maternal grandparents Elmer and Viola Peifer. A visitation will be held at Salem-Zion Church, 119 Cherry Street, Pillow, PA 17080, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon by the Rev. Curtis H. E. Zemencik. Interment will take place the same day at Maple Grove Cemetery in Elizabethville, PA.
